Circular logistics in practice: how AQUALEX and Plastibac create sustainable impact
Sustainability goes beyond the products we offer. It also includes the way products are stored, transported and installed. Together with Plastibac, AQUALEX has developed a circular logistics approach that reduces packaging waste, increases efficiency and extends the lifespan of materials. Through reusable logistics solutions, we are building a more sustainable supply chain every day.

More Structure, Less Waste
An important first step was the transition to standardized Euro containers. These provide greater structure and uniformity in storage, internal transport, and the movement of goods between our different locations.
This approach not only offers practical benefits but also supports our sustainability ambitions. Thanks to a clear and organized system for materials and components, processes run more smoothly, while unnecessary packaging and waste streams are reduced. By keeping materials in use for longer and reusing packaging, we also minimize our environmental impact.
Quality at Every Stage of the Process
Our AQUALEX Fino and Duo taps are fully developed and assembled in-house in Deerlijk, in collaboration with our custom work partner WAAK. Every detail receives careful attention. The assembly of our drinking water systems brings together a wide range of components. That is why a well-organized workflow and reliable logistical support are essential to ensuring quality throughout the entire process.
Plastibac’s storage and transport cases support this approach. They provide organized storage and safe transportation of components, allowing us to carefully protect and track our drinking water systems throughout the entire journey.
Circularity in Practice
For us, circularity is not an abstract concept but a practical way of working. We use reusable transport cases made from recycled plastic to safely move components and materials throughout the entire process. These cases are filled in our warehouse, travel with our installers to the customer site, and return to AQUALEX after installation.
This creates a closed-loop system in which packaging materials are no longer disposable products but a sustainable part of our operations. By continuously reusing materials and transport equipment, we extend their lifespan, reduce waste, and decrease the consumption of raw materials.
Small Steps, Big Impact
Circular logistics is not the result of one major change but of a series of thoughtful choices that together create a lasting impact. From standardized storage solutions to reusable transport cases, every step contributes to more efficient operations and a smaller environmental footprint.
In this way, we consistently integrate our sustainability vision into every aspect of our organization. Together with our partners, we continue to explore ways to make processes smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable.
