Summerwave 2025: PHILLIPS X AQUALEX
From 31 July to 18 August 2025, auction house Phillips will set up shop in the AQUALEX Concept Store in Knokke. A wonderful opportunity for art lovers to (re)discover a selection of renowned and emerging names in 20th-century and contemporary art, just a stone's throw from the beach and in a unique interior setting.

Phillips is an auction house that facilitates the buying and selling of 20th-century and contemporary artworks, design, jewellery, watches, photographs, and editions. It operates worldwide, with locations across the globe.
Phillips also runs a representative office in Antwerp. However, since many of its clients and collectors spend their summers at the coast, the auction house sought a suitable venue to establish a presence there as well. The AQUALEX Concept Store was the perfect choice. “AQUALEX offers a beautiful programme of exhibitions throughout the year. That style resonates with us,” says Marianne Hoet of Phillips. “We were therefore delighted to take up this space during the summer months.”
On the ground floor, visitors will find a cylindrical exhibition space divided into compartments, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the artworks. Meanwhile, the lower level provides all the necessary facilities to work and host guests.
Collaborating with existing exhibition spaces is nothing new for Phillips; around the world, it partners with galleries and museums. The aim? To modernise the art collecting experience, increase access to art, and bring greater value to the art world.
The move will take place on 31 July, when Phillips sets up its summer base. Until 18 August, it will present a selection of paintings and sculptures by both established and emerging 20th-century and contemporary artists. Some of these works (though not all) will be available for sale.
