Phillips x AQUALEX: Summer Wave 2025

Auction house Phillips facilitates the purchase and sale of 20th-century and contemporary artworks, design pieces, jewellery, watches, photographs, and editions. It operates globally, with offices around the world. In Antwerp, it runs a representative office, but since many of its collector clients spend their summers at the coast, the auction house sought a suitable location to establish a presence there as well. The choice fell on the AQUALEX Concept Store. “AQUALEX hosts a strong programme of exhibitions throughout the year. That style resonates with us,” says Marianne Hoet of Phillips. “We were therefore delighted to be able to occupy this space over the summer.”

On the ground floor, there is a cylindrical exhibition space divided into compartments, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the artworks. Meanwhile, the downstairs area offers all the facilities needed to work and receive guests. Collaborating with an existing exhibition space is not new for Phillips; around the world, it partners with galleries and museums. The goal? To modernise the experience of art collecting, increase access to art, and thus bring more value to the art world.

On 31 July, the move becomes a reality: Phillips relocates to its summer base, where it will exhibit a selection of paintings and sculptures by both established and emerging 20th-century and contemporary artists until 18 August. Some of the works (but not all) will be available for purchase.
