Street Barista and Onkel Metzger Burger: Organic hybrid concept
The newly opened Street Barista in Krefeld has a clear mission: to offer guests exclusively organic food and drinks and to cater to different target groups with two different concepts. Until noon, homemade pasta, regional bread from the Düsseldorf- based Bulle bakery, and coffee made from organically grown coffee beans are served. From noon onwards, the menu features burgers and side dishes exclusively.

Sustainability you can taste and drink
The owners knew that the water they served had to reflect this philosophy. Plastic bottles were out of the question, as were supermarket products. They wanted a solution that would provide high-quality water at the perfect temperature, without unnecessary effort and freely accessible to guests.
The design of the AQUALEX Forte was immediately convincing, but the decisive factors were its inner values: sufficient volume, the option of individually adjusting the sparkling water, and constantly chilled, fresh water.
Since its installation, the Forte has been prominently displayed in the customer area. The device has made life much easier for the team, as it runs reliably.
Guests can help themselves to still or sparkling water free of charge until 12 noon and choose the level of carbonation to suit their taste. In the afternoon, each bottle or glass can be refilled as often as desired for a small fee. No plastic, no unnecessary waste, just fresh water at the touch of a button.
It's all in the combination: organic through and through
The combination of high-quality water, biodegradable to-go cups made from cane sugar, and consistently sustainable ingredients noticeably strengthens the café's reputation. "It's important to us that the water doesn't come into contact with plastic; that's also crucial for the health of our guests," emphasize the owners.
The Forte fits perfectly into the café's sustainability strategy. Street Barista operates completely plastic-free and uses only biodegradable materials. This attitude is appreciated by guests. Many praise the device's ease of use, the fresh water quality, and the fact that they can decide for themselves how sparkling they want their water to be.
Just the beginning
The café does not yet have exact figures on water or energy savings, as it is still in its infancy. But the path is clear: Street Barista is growing, and with each new branch, an AQUALEX water dispenser will find its place.
